By using our app, you consent to this Privacy Policy and accept its terms. We always explain why we need specific data.
Information We Collect
We only collect the data needed to provide core features such as inventory management, household sharing, and Premium subscriptions.
If you contact us, additional information such as your name, email address, phone number, or the contents of your message may be collected.
When you create an account, we may request contact details, household members, and optional product photos that you capture in the app.
How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the app
- Improve, personalize, and expand WhatTheFridge
- Understand and analyze how you use our features
- Develop new products, services, features, and functionality
- Communicate with you—for support, updates, or marketing
- Send transactional emails and push notifications
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud or misuse
Captures & Scans
When using barcode scans or camera captures, we only process information that you actively add. Access can be revoked at any time in your device settings.
- Capture happens exclusively while you add items
- Photos and scan metadata are stored securely with your account
- Data is used for product creation and household synchronization
- We do not sell inventory or scan data to third parties
Log Files
We log technical data such as IP address, device type, operating system, and timestamps. This information is not directly personally identifiable and helps us analyze and improve the app.
Third-Party Privacy Policies
WhatTheFridge’s Privacy Policy does not apply to other providers. Please read their policies before enabling an integration such as Apple Health.
We only exchange the minimum data required with third parties and never receive your passwords.
CCPA Privacy Rights
California consumers have the right to request disclosures, deletions, or opt-outs related to their personal data. If you submit a request we respond within one month.

- Request deletion of personal data stored by WhatTheFridge
- Ask us not to sell personal data (we already do not sell data)

Every user located in the EU or EEA is entitled to:

- Erasure – request deletion under specific conditions
- Restriction – request limits on processing under certain circumstances

Children's Information
Protecting children online is part of our commitment. We encourage parents and guardians to monitor app usage.
WhatTheFridge does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child provided such data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
